The Jacksonville Zoo

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is home to over 2,000 different animals in thirteen different animal exhibits and over 1,000 types of plants in seven garden exhibits. In 2015, the Jacksonville zoo made Trip Advisor's list of the top 25 zoos in the United States. The zoo truly is impressive. You can easily spend an entire day visiting the different exhibits and participating in any of the 16 different experiences the zoo has to offer such as Stingray Bay, Train rides, Animal encounters, and a scenic river cruise. The zoo is fun for people of all ages with their extensive range of activities.

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens also offers 12 different educational programs to encourage protection of wildlife and wild places. These programs range from field trips, zoo camps, after dark adventures, scout programs, and teacher resources amongst others. In addition to educational programs, the zoo also holds different engaging events. The zoo holds several different types of events including Brew at the Zoo - where guests of age can enjoy unlimited tastes of over 150 different types of craft beers, other types of alcohol and non alcoholic beverages; College night - where guests with a student ID can visit for $10 and enjoy low priced beer and pizza while playing lawn games; and various other events. You can also hold your birthday party at the zoo.
